Efforts Toward Global Environmental Conservation

Heat-Reflective Coating on Window Glass

At our main office, we have applied heat-reflective coating to window glass to reduce indoor temperature increases caused by summer sunlight, thereby lowering air conditioning energy consumption.

Heat-Reflective Coating on Roofs

Heat-reflective coatings were applied to the roof of our main office factory in FY 2011 and to the roofs of the second and fifth factories in FY 2012. These measures help mitigate indoor temperature rises during summer sunlight, reducing air conditioning energy consumption.

Inspection of Waste Treatment Facilities

We conduct an annual inspection of waste treatment facilities to ensure proper waste management. The photo shows the inspection by Kayama Kogyo Co., Ltd. on June 15, 2022, a certified excellent industrial waste treatment company.

Promotion of Green Purchasing

We encourage "green purchasing," which means that when purchasing an product, you should carefully consider whether you really need the product, think about the environment rather than just quality and price, and prioritize purchasing products and services that have as little environmental impact as possible from businesses that are striving to reduce their environmental impact.

Environmentally Conscious Product Design

On June 1, 2022, we began manufacturing and selling eyeglass lenses using the new high-refractive-index lens material "MR-160DG™," part of the "Do Green™" series launched by Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. on April 1, 2022. This material is derived from plant-based raw materials, reflecting our commitment to environmentally conscious product design.

We are reducing power consumption by introducing environmentally conscious systems, known as the "Earth Conscious System," across various sites.

Measures include centralized installation and unified management of air compressors, upgrading to efficient air conditioning systems, and high-efficiency inverter lighting. Additionally, we are progressively adopting LED lighting and motion sensors to improve operational efficiency and reduce power consumption.
These efforts have enabled us to cut approximately 32 tons of CO2 emissions per month.

Community Engagement Initiatives

Participation in the Anti-Litter Declaration Program

Since September 2006, we have participated in the Gamagori City Clean Campaign. Starting in October 2015, volunteers have conducted monthly cleanups around the company premises. Through these activities, we aim to promote the vision of a "litter-free town."
